FAQ

General

The primary function of the XV Anthology cycle is to create a consistent schedule of production for the producing team. Each cycle involves all stages of production, from conception to completion and produces two full episodes for the anthology.

Each cycle takes place in four separate parts: (i) Pre-Production, (ii) Production, (iii) Post-Production, (iv) Distribution. Phases (i) and (ii) take roughly two months, which includes the script-submission process, and includes one weekend of production for two narrative episodes of the anthology.

Phases (iii) and (iv) take roughly 3-4 months. This also includes all work done to make the episode live on YouTube. In effect, a full cycle takes around 5-6 months and results in two episodes.

Each episode takes roughly one production day to complete.

Each episode is roughly 2-4 minutes long. The Microshort (Volume V) category requires that the final product be either :45 or 1:30.

Script Submissions

You can find more information on the submissions page, or at www.filmfreeway.com/XVAnthology.

In order to continue to produce episodes, we require that any scripts that wish to be considered for the XV Anthology be submitted with a $15 fee. This fee allows us to select two episodes per cycle to produce into full short films, as well as give feedback on scripts that are submitted.

Unfortunately, if your script is not chosen for a production cycle, your submission fee is not refunded. The submission process is similar to any traditional film festival submission, except our team will provide feedback on your script!

Yes! However, you are required to pay the submission fee per each script you submit. If you submit more than one script in a cycle, in the additional questions asked in your submission, you are not required to fill out your bio twice (you can write "see previous submission").

Involvement

As the script submission process is available through FilmFreeway, you will receive both (i) communication from FilmFreeway on whether your script is selected (similar to any other film festival submission), and (ii) direct communication via the producing team to your email address.

If a writer wishes to remain involved after a script has been submitted, we encourage you to get in contact with us to find out your level of involvement! Spreading our social media pages, and YouTube page, will certainly help us.

If your script was accepted to a production cycle, you will receive information from the producing team on further steps in the process.

An episode is aired between 5 and 6 months from acquisition of the script.

If your script is selected for a production cycle, you will receive early drafts of the film to watch as a viewer, but not as a person for feedback.
